A Tapestry of Secrets by Sarah Loudin Thomas

What impressed me the most about this book was the Love and Respect shown to the grandmother as she struggled to recover from a stroke.  I appreciated the scripture references and talks with the Lord, seeking Him in all things. There were real life struggles with the aging process and showing that as we grow older we still have worth and that life is not over and we should never give up but continue to Dream and Strive to Thrive. There is much about valuing our heritage and our family it is a very worthwhile read.
I highly recommend it.

The designs in this book are a little more intricate than the ones in the book I previously reviewed. However this book was just as enjoyable and an experience of reflection of being fearless.  The paper is great quality and the book well thought out and easy to work in.  If you haven’t dipped your toes into the world of adult coloring books yet Ms Feinberg’s books will be a good place to start.

I loved this book it had all my favorite things in it, starting a business and the nuts and bolts of running one.  Overcoming adversity, falling in love, renewing relationships and finding love at all different  ages.  Love is not just for the young. This book show how we allow others expectations to put pressure on ourselves with unrealistic expectations of what God expects from us.
It has lighthearted elements like a goat who eats everything and has attitude. Kind of reminded me of some people I know. LOL
The whole story captured my attention and kept it. Ms Bylin’s style of writing was excellent and spoke to me.

This book is rich with legacy from family and God.
I thoroughly enjoyed the lessons on how to love and diffuse anger and gossip.  There were several strong personalities with the type of problems that we often face in our everyday life. I had a little trouble following some of the lineages and getting the names straight but, the book gave me a desire to know more about my own ancestors and the legacy they have passed down to me.

I would recommend this book and it leaves you at a point where you want to know the next chapter.

Live Free An Adult Coloring Book by Margaret Feinberg

This is my first time participating in the new coloring books for adults.  I was reluctant to do so, as art is my full time job.  However I highly recommend it and especially Margaret Feinberg’s version.  I spent a nice time unwinding and relaxing while meditating on the corresponding scripture.  It was very therapeutic and comforting.

I prefer using colored pencils but know that some of my friends prefer markers and gel pens.  I think if you were to use anything except colored pencils you might get some bleed through onto the back of your page.  That would spoil the design on the back of each page which gave me a spot for journaling and doodling.  Put a sheet of paper between the pages if you are using markers and then you won’t get any bleed on the next design.

All in all this is a book that I highly recommend!  Do you need a little time to relax and enjoy the Lord’s presence? Or you just want to get away from the pressures of being an adult?  You need this book and a set of sharpened colored pencils!

Amish Sweethearts by Leslie Gould

I’ve been thinking why I have been choosing to read romance novels lately, specifically Christian romance.  One reason is because I like them. They give one hope that relationships do work out and there is a happy ending.  Just like in the bible the hero may go thru many trials and suffer many misunderstandings but you just know it is going to be ok.  He is going to end up with that intimate relationship blessed by the Lord.

Two I enjoy these books because they are not graphic and I can apply many of the overcoming of trials to my own life and my walk with the Supreme Lover of my soul, Father God.

Something that I found of particular interest in Amish Sweethearts was how the main characters had to choose the path of faith they would walk. To find that place that pleases God and not man even though the going is tough.  How many of us conform to what we think others expect of us and do not seek God’s heart for us?

This book was not only an enjoyable read, but a good reminder that sometimes we need to walk away from our electronics for a while and spend time with those that matter. Don’t assume we know everything about those we love, but really find out about them.  I recommend this book and hope you will enjoy it.

An uplifting story of respect and honor of our elders and looking beyond first impressions. While there is an overall story of the frog becoming a prince what really impressed me about this book was how the elderly were shown love.  This was a lovely story and a good reminder of seeking God about
His purposes above our own.

Worship changes everything!  How true.  I got this book just as I had been asking the Lord to help me draw closer to Him.  To help me to seek HIM, spending time in HIS presence.

This book has helped me to define what I can do for God, starting just where I am, I don’t have to make things complicated. You will learn to have a greater heart for God and live a worshipful life, watching to say what the Lord would have you say. Your self-worth will be boosted as you begin to live a life of worship and see yourself
as our Loving Father sees us.

This is not just a book for people who stand in front of crowds or church and sing this is a book for every person in whatever their personal walk is.  You can worship God in your job, your marriage, by cherishing your children, in times of desolation and in private.  Worship of our Creator is where ever we are in whatever we do, it is not just standing in front of church and singing a few songs. Worship is a relationship!

Well paced mystery with great twists and turns. I especially needed the encouragement in my life that this book so well says. Often we judge God and turn from HIM because of bad experiences.  We are so overwhelmed with the negative that we do not see all the good.
God sees the good things and only desires our company.
appreciate a good mystery/romance that is clean.
Great book!

This book has really brought the time of Nehemiah alive to me.  I highly recommend it to those who want to have more understanding of what it was like to rebuild the city of Jerusalem, to be a bondservant or a nobleman.  The differences of the classes, to farm or be a shepherd.

Nehemiah’s story is one of hearing from the God of the Impossible and knowing His voice.  To see God open doors and make a way for the impossible using a regular man is very faith building to know that we too can trust God’s voice in what He asks us to do.

I look forward to reading more titles by Lynn Austin.
